I received my Technician Amateur License KB9TBO on June 24, 1998 and upgraded to General on April 3, 2006 and now I am an Amateur Extra as of August 12, 2006. I have changed my call to W9AL as of October 11 2006. I live in Starke County Indiana and my grid is EN61pe.
I am involved in ARES, RACES, NTS, SKYWARN, CoCoRaHS, AND CERT. Currently I hold the ARRL position of Indiana Section Emergency Coordinator, Official Relay Station and the Official Emergency Station in Starke County. I am a VE and also a CERT instructor.
I am the president of the Starke County Amateur Radio Club. A member of the C.E.R.T., ARRL, FP#1273, DMC #253 and SKCC #1552
I have been involved with teaching a Technician, General with Code and a couple of Amateur Extra classes for my county’s Amateur Radio Club.
I have and I been NCS for the following Nets - Starke County Amateur Radio Club, Starke County Simplex Net, NWI ARES and SKYWARN Club and the Indiana Traffic Net
I have attended classes for CERT, SKYWARN, Indiana Department of Homeland
Security, and FEMA. I have completed the FEMA classes in IS-001, IS-005, IS-22, IS-26, IS-100A, IS-120A, IS-130, IS-139, IS-200A, IS-208, IS-230A, IS-235, IS-240, IS-241, IS-242, IS-244, IS-250, IS-275, IS-288, IS-292, IS-300, IS-400, IS-317, IS-546, IS-547, IS 630, IS 631, IS-700A, IS-703A, IS-775, IS-800B, IS-802, IS-805 and the
ARRL ARECC Coarse Level 1, Level 2 also the new Public Service and Emergency Communications Management for Radio Amateurs Course (EC-016)
My wife is active on 2 meter and 440 FM and her call is KC9HUG
